Although I never intended to have Step-Kids.....it happens when you remarry. It's a "Package Deal" which comes when you marry a "Mom"
Now there are "horror stories" that develop between blended families etc.....I guess I had a bit of an easier situation having a "long distance relationship" as I had......but, it's always "interesting" getting to know the extended family that you are connecting with.
Jeffrey is definately a kid you can be proud of....not because he's perfect, but because he hard working and really does have good values. Although I didn't get to know him much because he already lived on his own - I will always remember his opening comment to me -- all he said was "As long as you treat my mom good, I have no problem with you". Jeffrey is currently in "Boot Camp" on his Journey to Navy Seals....we pray for him and know God is working good things in his life. I'm proud of him and I've only known him a few years.
Jennifer I did get to know during the "year of immigration - 2006"....she was always quite around me...and, I guess I sorta expected that from the beginning being a 'step-dad' ....but, she has a good head on her shoulders and knows how to 'pitch in' when things have to get done. We had the pleasure of having her move to Canada and live with us....and, we got to share in her engagement to Aaron Hunt in Feb 2009. She was married in August 2009 and now lives in Kansas.
